05:02 PM ET 10.31 | The Pittsburgh Pirates do not plan on extending an offer to Justin Morneau during the negotiating window, but that doesn't mean the team isn't interested in bringing him back to the organization. Morneau hit 17 home runs with the Minnesota Twins before he was traded to the Pittsburgh Pirates. He played in 25 regular season games and only drove in three runs without a single home run. In the playoffs, Morneau played in six games but didn't drive in a single run while striking out twice and walking once.

I don't see this guy going to a National League team unless the Mets want to take a chance on him to replace Ike. I view him as strickly an AL type of guy.

QUOTE(#1):

Yeah, because Gaby Sanchez and Garrett Jones are beasts.

He was about the same or a little better than Jonesat the plate but much better in the field. If they can get him cheap then platooning him with Gaby would be OK.
