07:23 AM ET 11.01 | Cincinnati lost in more ways than one Thursday night, as Bengals defensive tackle Geno Atkins, one of the league's most dominant defensive players, may be out for a while. Atkins left the Bengals' 22-20 overtime loss to the Miami Dolphins with a right knee injury Thursday night. NFL Media columnist Michael Silver reports, via a Bengals source that early indications are that Atkins has torn his right ACL. Atkins stayed down on the field for a long time after the injury, and had to be helped off the field by teammates. The two-time All-Pro player was carted off the field and taken to the locker room after. NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reports that Atkins will get an MRI on his knee Friday to confirm the injury, per a separate Bengals source. "If anyone can come back, he can," the source added.

Good luck coming back from such a bad loss. I guess I was wrong about Cincy. Flush 'em!

Injury bug has really hit the Bengals hard last few weeks......but they will be fine.

Geno Atkins loss really hurts tho, when you lose the best D-tackle in the game it hurts no matter how deep you are.

The "real" Dalton was in "Roadhouse". All the rest are just pretenders.

Hurts and hurts bad. You don't replace Atkins. Others have to step up now.

Turned a good teaching opportunity for Marvin Lewis into a major problem going forward. If you were only talking about a loss in what was clearly a trap game, that's one thing. Losing your best player on defense is something else entirely.

What I saw last night was the real Dalton, at least from the past few years.

Big loss, in more ways than one. You can't replace his production and leadership.

Atkins will be sorely missed. It's going to be a lot easier to run on Cincy now.

Tough loss, especially since the trade deadline just passed.

At least they get extra time to regroup.
