07:40 AM ET 11.01 | Before the Canucks made room for him to remain as their top goaltender, there was a time Roberto Luongo speculation had him landing in any number of new destinations. Luongo isn't too shy to admit it all these months later -- he thought he was going to be a Toronto Maple Leaf. "I was pretty sure I was going to end up there," the personable Luongo told the Toronto Sun in an interview on Thursday. "I was pretty shocked and surprised when I didn't." When approached by Canucks general manager Mike Gillis prior to the 2012 draft, Luongo has said in the past that he asked that a deal be worked out with Tampa Bay or Florida, teams in the state where he spends his off-seasons. As time passed, however, there was more and more interest shown by the Leafs.

If it was Gillis, he truly might be one of the worst GM's in the league.

Gillis is up there with Homer and Slats.

Thankfully for TOR, we ended up with a better goalie at a much lower price.

They are desperate, but will they shell out the $$$ for Bobby Lou?

Who starts vs. Vancouver Saturday? Tough choice...

As I predicted (then recanted when Bernier started en fuego, but whatever shut up), Reimer is killing it. But is he Emery to Bernier's Crawford this year? Or can he win the job as his own despite Bernier's annointing via that trade and kinda overpriced contract.

Who finishes is more important. :-)
