05:08 PM ET 11.01 | The Pittsburgh Steelers rank near the bottom of the NFL in points per game, but offensive coordinator Todd Haley still believes in his team. Despite the fact that the team struggles to light up the scoreboard and people calling for his job, Haley thinks his team is right on the edge of greatness - well, "on the cusp of being pretty good." Haley thinks that the team can start scoring enough points to win games and Haley thinks that time could come soon. Ideally, Haley's offense will start to improve their performance this week. The Cincinnati Bengals just lost on Thursday Night Football, which means a win by Pittsburgh will close the gap in the AFC North and keep their hopes alive.

I'm all for the Steelers closing the gap in the AFC North, just not this Sunday.

On the verge of good is a horseshoes reference!

Pretty non-committal.

Haley was hired to make the Pittsburgh offense more effective, in 23 games he's managed a skooch over 20 points per game and zero playoff appearances. Arians got put out to pasture, in 5 years he averaged a seemingly abysmal 22 and a half points per game. Why, that was barely good enough for 4 playoff trips and 2 Super Bowls in 5 years.

But Haley says any day now things will get better, so we have that going for us.

Yeah, as soon as they hire an Offensive Coordinator, their going to start scoring points. Oh wait.. I guess that wasn't what Todd was saying.

don't Bogart that joint Tod, pass it around....

Your offense only being on the verge of becoming good eight games into the season IS NOT a good thing,Todd. They should've been ready to be good at the start of the season.

what's the difference between almost good and almost bad?

They're going to run into a defensive buzzsaw up there in Foxboro.

Why does he still have a job? Why was he not canned during the bye week?
