03:43 AM ET 02.18 | The Lakers may not be done tinkering with their roster. The word is they don't believe Lamar Odom can be that ultimate small forward to defend the wing and shoot from distance along the front line when Andrew Bynum returns. The Lakers are said to be looking hard for a more traditional small forward with shooting range. Perhaps the Wizards' Caron Butler, who was injured and couldn't play in Sunday's All-Star Game.

Lakers will not be able to snag Butler from the Wizards the way they snag Pau from Memphis. I would not do a Odom for Butler straight up...Butler is an up and coming player.

I'll hang myself if, God forbid, the Lakers pulled a sign-and-trade for Shawn Marion next season when he can opt out or if it happens after his contract expires. Marion in purple and gold? Sacriledge!

i could see odom going back to miami for marion, it would make sense since miami no longer has a strong frontcourt

kaycee ur dreaming... i like the lakers as they are but if they trade odom for butler and dont have to throw in much more then thats no biggy i like odom considering wen bynum is back our frontcourt will be amazing allthough butler can shoot the ball better and he can also back up bryant at the 2.... well see just dont throw in farmer or turiaf

The Lakers should never have traded Butler for Kwame Freakin' Brown. Caron Butler should be offended!

I am sure the Wizards would be wiling to trade 2xAll Star Caron Butler for no good and never will be Lamar Odom and whatever other crap they could **** to the trade.
Oh and Tuppytim, I bet the Lakers are dieing to add team cancer Ricky Davis. Why dont they just shoot Gasol, Bynum and Bryant in the feet the night before the playoffs.

While I think caron would instantly make the Lakers the favorites to win it all,I do not think that that the Lakers have enough right now to pry Butler away from the Wiz unless maybe they toss in Lamar and Jordan Farmar, which I doubt they will do...The only probable way that it would happen if Mr. Stern "leans" heavily on the Wiz management to perform some "charitable league service"...you never know..
Skybill; as for my namesake, if he didn't want to be third fiddle on the Suns, why in the would would he want to be the fourth wheel on the Lakers behind Gasol, Bryant, & Bynum? The Lakers would have to hire Dr. Phil full time in that scenario...No, no, I think Shawn, will opt for the last year of his contract in Miami and then find the free agent market for himself not quite what he hoped.

i see a celtic trade in the making. james posey and big baby for lamar odom. but that could potentially destroy their playoff chances after the big three retire.

a trade has to be favorable for both sides to be consummated. why would the wizards take another power forward when they already have an all star in jamison. if odom leaves LA, my best bet would be chicago for nocioni + alpha. chicago needs a low post presence, and odom can provide that from time to time.

As a wizards fan.. no way in hell we would trade Buter for Odom. Butler is on the rise, Odom is good but you can't compared him to Butler right now. They don't called him tough juice for no reason...he played hard all the time. and his defensive skills are crazy.

If Artest is willing to be a team player, I think going for him would be awesome. He can defend and play physical.
Also, AK47 might be what the Lakers REALLY need. He can guard almost anybody. I would love to see him in LA.
No Shawn Marion, please! He is a good player, but a horrible crybaby. Besides, he wants $20 million per year and the ball all the time. The Lakers know better.
