07:44 AM ET 11.02 | As Jaguars receiver Justin Blackmon deals with the latest obstacle to a promising and productive NFL career, Blackmon has begun the process regaining the trust of his organization by apologizing to it. "I want to sincerely apologize to Mr. Khan, my teammates, my coaches and to the Jaguars fans for not utilizing the resources that I was provided to overcome my challenges," Blackmon said in a statement. "I am determined to overcome the issues that have resulted in this situation, and I truly appreciate the support that the Jaguars and my agent have shown me. I will address these matters with the type of intensity I usually direct toward my on-field play so that I can be ready to be a productive member of the team and community next season. Again, I am truly sorry to Mr. Khan, my teammates and coaches and to the Jaguars fans for the impact of my situation on the team as well as to my family and friends and those that have been there for me during these challenging times. Nobody is more disappointed with all of this than me."

In other words, "I apologize for being a dumb arse."

I apologize for being a spolied brat who thinks he's above the law and beyond reproach. I also apologize for having the IQ of a hammer and the fact that I don't really plan to learn from this. In fact, I apologize for taking a page out of the books of T.O., PacMan, and Michael Irvin for good measure.

These kind of apologies ring hollow when it's your agent who actually writes it for you.

I don't know what's worse. A professional athlete apologizing or all you sanctimonious leeches that feed on this kind of drivel.

I apologize for the fact that you're actually the one being sanctimonious here.

Anyone know if the "illegal substance" was a PED or a narcotic?

I can understand that they don't want to release the details, but they really shouldn't lump them together under the same category.

Awww, and just when the Jags were about to turn this season around.

I haven't read anything about that. Isn't that the type of info the NFLPA likes to sweep under the rug? I'm sure it will eventually leak out. There's always an anonymous source the feels the need to throw in their two cents.

I think it was the Jaguars' kool-aid.

I'M SORRY. I wish my world was so easy that all I had to do is say I'M SORRY.
