05:15 PM ET 11.02 | The hits just keep on coming following the Philadelphia Flyers getting blown out at the hands of the Washington Capitals. With the team down 7-0 in the third period, the Flyers initiated an all-out line brawl. The hockey gods work in mysterious ways though, and in the end it was Philadelphia who ended up losing two key players following the brawl. Among the fallen was Vincent Lecavalier, who picked a fight with 6-foot, 190-pound Steve Oleksy. The 6-foot-4, 215 -pound Lecavalier got his lunch served to him and will miss at least a few weeks with injures to his face.

And Holtby stayed in the game and made a big save right after the beating he got from classless Emery.

To slightly quote Herb Brooks- the face is a long way from the heart.

They also lost Downie to a concussion, but still beat the Devils 1 - 0.

good.

Found out that Downie picked up his concussion in the same round of fights. This has got to be a new low for the Flyers. Getting pounded on the scoreboard is nothing new, but losing the fights sure is.

That's what usually happens when someone like Vinnie fancies himself an Evander Hollyfield. "Boom!!" Face meets fist ... and he's left wondering what planet he's on for a few days.
