Did Edmonton miss out on Ilya Bryzgalov?

09:00 AM ET 11.03 | What possibly could be the justification in Edmonton, where goaltenders Devan Dubnyk, Jason LaBarbera and Richard Bachman have combined for a dramatically deficient .882 save percentage that has undermined Dallas Eakins' first month behind an NHL bench, for not offering a contract to free agent Ilya Bryzgalov? Surviving the goalie nuthouse in Philadelphia should be endorsement enough of Bryzgalov, who sure doesn't need (and isn't seeking) a fortune to sign after having been bought out by the Flyers this summer for $23 million over the next 14 years.

How did they miss out? Isn't he at Home Depot, in full gear, every morning still looking for work?

For my American friends.....

And something from the Comedy Network....

How the hell Kessel got 5 for fighting is beyond me.

Last night was a nightmare. I expect the worst from Vancouver trips, but, man.

I kinda enjoyed it myself.

And I finally figured out why Kessel fought Burrows. He knew that 5 minutes in the box would help his +/-. :0)

What, screaming " Get off Me'' isn't worth 5 min.??

I thought he was in 'Vegas, doing his Charlie Sheen impersonation.

Why do they need a third goalie with an 800 save percentage. How does that help the team?

I was laughing at that one myself.

I saw that JVR kept his Screen Actors Guild card from his days with the Flyers. I don't know what was more pathetic, pretending that the little tap on the side was a slash or the refs calling it.

Like I said, he figured it out. :-)

Well when the refs are letting Kassian score after Matt Cooke'ing Bolland leaving the Leafs short-handed in their own zone, you take whatever chance at an advantage you can get.

Don't worry Danny, Eugene Melnyk is looking for the real killers as we speak.

When you mentioned Cooke, I had to look up how he's doing. He has 3 goals and 8 assists, right now he leads the Wild with a plus 6 and he only has 6 penalty minutes.

Bryzgalov....hahahahahahahahahahahaaaaa...the 'journalist' is reaching a bit, no?

I wish I could POTF. Even imagining it is hilarious.

Watching that dreadful display of ineptness last night, it's obvious they have far bigger concerns in Edmonton than goal-tending. Their defense is absolute crap, from their useless captain (Ference) to the last one of them. Jeff Petry is a disaster and directly responsible for the first two (I didn't see the other three) of Detroit's five goals and totally demoralized the whole team. Other than Lady Smyd, not one of them have any cohones on that D line. An absolute disaster, a train wreck.

Yeah but, not nearly as scary as what transpired in Edmonton.

Exactly. But, what I don't understand is why that motley crew of Kevin Lowe and Craig MacT passed up on 6'5" and 225 lbs. Keaton Ellerby put on waivers by the LA Kings. Can this guy possibly be any worst than the inept bunch they have over there?
