Does Ohio State have Big Ten's best two QBs?

10:18 AM ET 11.03 | Urban Meyer hasn't seen all the other starting quarterbacks in the Big Ten, but Ohio State's head coach wouldn't have to do an extensive study to decide which ones from the conference he'd take to lead his team. "If we're drafting," he said, "I have the two I like." It's easy to imagine why Meyer hasn't bothered looking. Making the judgment call on the first quarterback is easy. That's Braxton Miller, a preseason Heisman Trophy candidate who boasts as much natural ability as anyone in the country. It's Ohio State's second quarterback, senior Kenny Guiton, who makes this conversation interesting. Guiton is at least good enough for Meyer to not even hesitate leaving Miller on the bench in the second half, but is Guiton good enough to start at other Big Ten programs?

Will it matter?

Yes. Not much competition there. Big 10+2+2 is lousy. Is Guiton good enough to start at other BIg 10 programs? See answer to question 1.

considering how pathetically bad that conference is it's quite possible.

You are drinking the kool aid FJJ. "Pathetically bad"? Explain.

Hopefully 'Bama can get past Chattanooga and FSU can get past Idaho so we won't have to worry about Baylor taking their slot(s).

Scenario for you all. Scenario mind you. Michigan St runs the table, which at 8-1 and bye week, @ COC, @NW, and home against Minny could likely happen.

They are now 11-1 and certainly residing within the top 10 AP etc with the #1 defense in CFB. (Don't know if you guys witnessed the brutalization of Meatchicken yesterday or not but it was painful to watch and I say that as a Buckeye fan). I have never seen a QB get sodomized by a defense like that. Devin Gardner will not S hit for a month.) Assume Ohio St continues its dominance over the lesser opponents IL, IN and Meatchicken.

Now on national TV we have Ohio State with its top 3 or 4 offense and all the firepower facing the nations best defense. Assume to that Ohio State then beats the pulp out of Sparty, let's say 45 to 10. Assume to Oregon loses & Bama wins out and remains #1 in BCS.

Who plays Bama in that scenario? You compare the ACC to the B1G, you compare FSU slate of games to Ohio State's and try and tell me that it is better. Remember, I am not saying right now, I am saying if it plays out the way I am suggesting, then Ohio State will jump FSU to face Bama.

All of course IMHO

<Sigh>

Not with Sagarin, et al, and Margin of Victory (AKA Pure Elo, AKA Style Points). MOV now stricken as a rankings factor.

Woulda, coulda, shoulda: the Four Team Playoff this year instead of 2014.

I was with you until that 45-10 fantasy. I think we have a good chance to be 11-1, and I expect tOSU to be 12-0. The B1G Championship Game will be a dog fight.

Not sure if you Buckeye fans caught it or not, but Narduzzi told the ABC crew that he redesigned his schemes to contain mobile qb's after failing to contain Miller last year at Spartan Stadium. So, thanks for the assist.

Sparty, humor me please. If and remember I am saying "If" we both come into that game 12-0 and 11-1, and up to that point we have continued the dominance that we have shown the last 3 weeks, and then we (tOSU) dominate you guys like I am saying then do you think that is enough to jump FSU.

In my fantasy scenario I am picking on FSU cuz I do not believe their SOS to be any better than ours'.

and if things hold true to form Baylor would still be on the outside looking in to a 4 team playoff!

This is working out so perfect ... the last and final BCS BS championship and bowls will be the most BS of all!

1. No one will remember or care who is selected to receive the trophy.
2. FSU, tOSU, Baylor will not play each other in BCS bowls.

So bring on the neutered bowl season and let's get it over with!

Correcion: exhibition season.
Bowl season was prior to the Big Crock of ___ (BCS).

I still dont think they would jump FSU.. and imho their schedule is comparableYes MSU D is legit and #98 got raped yesterday...FSU will most likeley get Miami in the ACC CG.. Ohio St will need Clemson to lose to SCe....A 11-1 Clemson will be the best W of the two with the rest being equal ... Anyone know the head to head of the ACC-L1G

That is a good point LUS. That win will be a resume trump card that tOSU cannot overcome.

The only match-ups this yr that I recall is that NW (4-5 & 0-5) and Penn St (5-3 & 2-2) both beat Syracuse. Syracuse is 4-4 2-2 in ACC. NW's offensive output on Syracuse matched Clemson's against the Orangemen.

Other than that there is no head to head.
