10:51 AM ET 11.03 | Jonathan Martin has no immediate plans to return to the Miami Dolphins. NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Sunday on NFL Network's "NFL GameDay Morning" that -- barring the situation changing drastically in South Beach -- the offensive tackle does not feel comfortable rejoining the locker room, according to sources who have been in regular contact with Martin. The second-year blocker will be placed this week on the reserve/non-football injury list, Rapoport was told. It's unclear whether the Dolphins will pay the rest of Martin's $607,466 salary for 2013. Martin left the team this week following an emotional breakdown stemming from a cafeteria prank. He didn't play in Miami's 22-20 win over the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday night and remains with his family after seeking counseling. Rapoport noted that the NFL Players Association remains in "information-gathering mode" following the incident. The league has offered its assistance to all involved.

Just plug in a D1 rookie and save millions. It's the new NFL fad.

Whatever happened to kicking the other guy's butt in practice for being a 'tard? Make the guy pay. Geez this is too easy.

I guess in his grade school everybody got a trophy so nobody's feelings got hurt.

I played baseball in the beer league for many years. You dished it out and took it all in stride.

Not everyone is wired to "take it in stride". He should be praised for getting help in a positive way rather than snapping and doing something senseless and violent like so often happens these days.

He could have gone all Jovan Belcher on his teammate?

He also didn't have 7 illegitimate children like Adrian Peterson did.

It's the quiet ones you have to watch out for. The blowhards full of bravado are easy to read.

Hmmmmmm OK, perhaps I was too harsh. You don't often see guys who can't take a few pranks, playing in major league sports.

He was a stud in college. He was probably on the other side of the pranking.

That is how I see it. There is football and then there is life. Football has nothing to do with his problem. I hope he can get it fixed, or at least be able to deal with it in the real world.

He just happens to be a football player. He could just as well work at any job. I doubt pranking is the root of it, just the last straw.

With a locker room filled with 55 guys and no drill Sargent , anything can happen at any time!!!

I'm with you on this, DJ.

This dude obviously isn't wired for what the NFL is about. Better he gets the hell away and gets his scene squared away before he does something really bad.

Save millions....? Martin's salary this year is $650k, and he's pretty good. This is a guy they need to save.

Prepare for some super random-ness. But, you may be used to it by now.

LOL. Just checked my email.

The Manziel thread looks like it'll be where the action is today for the games.
