07:22 AM ET 11.04 | The highs and the lows have come quickly this season for Brooklyn, which beat the Heat on Friday and lost to the Magic on Sunday. "The win at home against Miami (on Friday) doesn't mean anything if we come in here and lay an egg and that's what we did," said Deron Williams. ... "[If] we want to be one of the best teams in this league, the best team in this league when it's all said and done, we've got to perform better in these situations." It had Kevin Garnett already questioning his role, considering the Nets are 1-2 and he has yet to crack double-digits scoring. "I've got to get better with what I'm doing, making my minutes more productive," Garnett said. "I'm just being a little more passive, trying to be the glue, if you will. I need to be a little more aggressive at times."

KG's role is to play defense and rebound so Lopez can concentrate on offense.......

Well.....I don't kow what kind of 'D' he's playing....but so far, he's only haulin' in 7 rebounds a game. I mean......them's be Brook Lopez type numbers (LOL) ....

I don't know what KG thought was gonna happen when he got to Brooklyn. I was sayin' this last year.....and I'll say it again.....KG's done as a 'premier' NBA'er. People in Brooklyn (to include KG) need to get wise to that fact.

He's questioning himself, and his effort, not the team as a whole. He wants to make his minutes count, which is commendable. This is the type of attitude this team needs, about maximising their potential/skills with the minutes they get. If this rubs off on the team, they will be in a good spot to compete going forward.

This is true, and would've been evident if people had read more than the headline.

Did You Leave Your Heart In Boston, Bro?

November 4, 2013  08:43 AM ET

You beat the Heat and that's all that counts. Losing to the lowly Magic and Cavs team makes up for the win...

Nice misleading headline, Mods. Makes it sound like KG is upset with the team or the coaching. He's just questioning himself, his contribution and trying to define his role.

Yup

DWill has regressed so fast. He should be the leader of this team but he seems content to be just a regular PG.

Nah.....I wouldn't say he's merely "content to be just a regular PG". I think being "just a regular PG" is about all he has in him for right now.

I'm inclined to believe that his ankle is still very much an issue. Until that thing heals up, his current level of play (25 minutes, 8 pts, 8 asst, 36% shooting and no 'D') is all the Nets are gonna get outta him.....

This team is going to learn the hard way what Miami figured out well into Season 1 of the Big 3....

And that is, you can not lump a bunch of "aged" players that have got to learn new roles into a team of youthful stars and expect results.

Brooklyn caught Miami playing poorly, so that 1 win is misleading.

They will be fine too come later in the season as well.

They are limiting his & PP's mpg.

He's hurt.

The headline says 'his' role, which is correct, but it's very easy to read that he calling out his team in regards to his role, which he is not. That being said, the team needs time.

November 4, 2013  10:03 AM ET

The headline is misleading. Sports writers ought to me honest; such blatantly mislealding headlines to grab a reader's attention only expose the writer's lack of integrity. KG is not questioning his role with the team, as the writer would make us believe. In a moment of introspection, he is saying that he ought to be more committed so that his time on the court is more effective.
