07:23 AM ET 11.04 | At this rate, a scoring title is out of the question. Carmelo Anthony has not been the cold-blooded scoring assassin he was to start out last season. Through three games, Anthony is averaging 21.0 points on just 37.7 percent shooting. After missing the game-winner in Chicago Thursday, Anthony started Sunday versus Minnesota 1-of-7 before heating up briefly to help a Knicks comeback that fell short. ... He admitted after the 109-100 loss to the Timberwolves he has got to get cracking. "I don't know, man, I'm trying to get in sync offensively," Anthony said. "I'm [off] offensively. That time will come." Anthony joked that he is no longer currently the best player from Syracuse, raving about 76ers rookie sensation Michael Carter-Williams before the game. And afterward, Anthony cracked, "He can have the torch."

The first 20 games are just an extension of pre-season.

Carter-Williams didn't play this well in the pre-season.

But as well as he's played.....I don't anticipate it'll last all season.

20.7 points (and 9 assists) per game? He hasn't scored like that since highschool.....he hasn't 'assisted' like that since......ever!

Let The Game Come To You, Bro.

You said your supporting cast sucks so you might need to do a lot more to make the team better. This is what you get for opening your mouth so much. You put these crap on yourself.

Needs do do.....not AdonisI wasn't talking about mick , after all....

Derrick Williams guarded him pretty good. The supporting cast needs to step up and not rely too much on melo.

Gerry McNamara is the best Syracuse alum. Forget the fact that he never played in the NBA.

MCW will soon get the Jeremy Lin treatment and he will come back down. I am just enjoying the ride. I don't expect hm to shoot so well but he will put up Rondo'esque stat lines. He is too long for most PG's to cover and stop from getting rebounds and we push the ball too much for him not to get easy baskets or foul shots. Updated my predictions for MCW:

12PPG, 6RebPG, 6.5assPPG, 3TO's PG, 3STLPg which is damn impressive

Knicks are one dimensional. Melo, Iso, Melo, Post, Pick, and roll chandler, shoot three. When those threes are not working they usually lose. If Melo is inefficient they are pretty much out of it. If your best inside scorer is your best outside scorer you will have some problems.

12 ppg and 6.5 assists? Yeah.....I can see that.

6 rebounds a game? No way. More like 4 to 4.5 rebounds.....

Oh.....and 3 steals per game ain't gonna hapen either.

2.25 per game would be much more likely.

Can't win them all...RW was back for the Thunder last night...thank goodness. Good Monday morning all.

Spot on. I think MCW is for real. He doesn't have to go against scrappy DLeague players. He'll go against PGs that's content to play in the NBA.

its a catch 22cause you can't 'step up' when the ball isn't passed around

Trade him for Kobe now. At least Kobe's contract ends this summer.

Yeah I probably rounded up but a little over two would be what I would expect. He is long and will play plenty of minutes and already plays defense.

I am impressed that he respects the opponents but is not scared of the moment. If Sixers play at this pace he will put up some numbers and he will get better. We definitely found our PG. If Turner turns that corner and can be a legitimate 2nd option we will be ok.

If not Melo then who... Dion Waiters? I have nothing against Waiters, I actually like him... but come on after 3 games? dang.
