Not in Philly's DNA to say sorry

07:30 AM ET 11.04 | The weekend brought with it a pair of games for the Flyers, one marred in the eyes of some by some old-days brawling and another that earned the team a 1-0 win. If the Capitals or rest of the NHL is waiting for an apology from the Flyers for Friday night, I hope they're not holding their breath. ... Before the horn could blow on the second period on Friday night, Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren was on his way from the press box to the dressing room to address his team. What did Holmgren say? "That stays in the room," coach Craig Berube said. Judging by his 1,684 career penalty minutes as a player and the ensuing Flyers reaction, we can only guess. Five minutes into the next period, gloves and helmets littered the ice.

The coaching change has worked out really well.

If you can't beat em, beat em!

What a complete disgrace. First, you trade Talbot for Downie. Talbot for Downie? Okay. Then you decide to take out the loss on Friday night by beating the crap out of them physically. Downie picks a fight he doesn't win and ends up in the hospital. Holtby told Emery he didn't want to fight, yet Emery still decided to beat the crap out of him. Lecavalier is out indefinitely because of the brawling. Their captain (ya know the "Best Player in the League?") is still w/o a goal. Did they decide they have hit rock bottom yet?

I got no dog in this race. I truly have no love for either team (cause of the rivalries), but I felt bad for the Caps.

You felt bad for the team with the 7-0 win, no injuries and a cushy 3rd place spot in the division? There was nobody to feel bad for here. The Caps, despite everything, got what they went there for and the Flyers look every bit the fools they are.

Yes. If it is okay with you, I felt bad they sustained injuries that they should not have sustained because Philly are a bunch of no-scoring, uncoached, unamanaged, ****-clowns. There is no reason for it. Generally, I don't feel bad for the Caps. No way. But no reason Holtby needed to be put in a headlock and pounded on because he shut the no-scorring ****-clowns out.

The Flyers organisation is a disgrace from top on down.

Emery always was a bit abrasive.

And the top is where the change has to start. Snider is the only one who's departure will start the cleansing.... but I doubt it will ever happen

I could be wrong but I don't think the Caps suffered any injuries.

You're right. No injuries for the Caps. The good guys are always protected against the evil ones. It was a WWE brawl. :-)

Not in Philly's DNA to say sorry

And let's not foget, berube was a jerk when he played too...so between the "Organisational Culture" and him, this should have surprised no one....except that it took this long

He just liked to "monkey" around.

I thought I had heard something else on NHL Network, but I may have misheard/misunderstood, or I stand corrected. Regardless, there was intent to injure (to Holtby IMHO - he clearly didn't want to fight), and as far as the Flyers' who are injured, they brought it on themselves.
