Players fear shakeup in Edmonton

07:33 AM ET 11.04 | Edmonton had a chance to turn the page, move on and make amends for a 4-0 home loss to Toronto. They had a players-only meeting, two days of practice and time to recharge -- something the Detroit Red Wings didn't have -- yet [the Oilers] did nothing but give the crowd at Rexall Place a reason to boo them off the ice by the second intermission on Saturday. ... Defenceman Ladislav Smid, who has experienced his share of losses since 2006, said he was in shock. "I don't know if this is rock bottom (because) this can get worse. People are going to get traded, it's going to get really uncomfortable for everyone now -- and I don't know if we realize that," Smid said after the Oilers were outshot 31-14. The Oilers have been outscored 17-2 in their last four home games, and are on another five-game losing skid.

QUOTE(#1):

It's kinda hard to make moves when the only valuable pieces you have to move are pieces that you don't want to move because you tanked for three years to get them. Nail Yakupov is the only piece they would be willing to move, and right now you're selling very, very low.

this is bad indeed....

Winnipeg could offer you Pavelec and Enstrom for Yakupov and a couple of puck bags.

I know you deal with CMUs but the have checked the price of fasteners lately?

I feared that this game would have been a patented fall flat to an inferior team for my Wings, but it seems I was foolish to even think it. And I would say it was probably an easy choice for Babcock to give Jimmy the night off and start Mrazek. Heck, Mrazek had the night off too.

Petr likes Edmonton. Best goalie at the 2012 World Juniors.

they may just have to part with a blue chipper and start again. Nail is getting a bad rep on work ethic of late.

Lmao I've been sitting here trying to figure out what you're gettin at.

But I do deal in fasteners, too. Those BL-407's aren't gonna screw themselves to the wall...

Unlike your mayor.....

Hey I didn't live in the city when he was elected. He's someone's mayor, but not Danny's.

Someone (maybe a new BFF) should tell him to quit cutting his crack with butter.

Now, now Canuck. Ford can come to DC and run for Mayor. Our forner Mayor (Barry) smoked crack with prostitutes bedore smokin' crack was cool. Been punished though. Back on City Council now and has since been convicted twice of tax evasion. Probably in line for a Nobel Prize.........or maybe a pay raise?

I'll put Hemsky and Gagner on your list. All three are movable parts. And, I'd package all three of them for one good, bigt, tough Center. I was never sold on Yakety-yak-pov. They should've moved him last season while they had a chance, before people found out he's a useless, selfish floater. Now everybody knows. And, who wants Petr Klima II?

I'd pull the trigger in a heartbeat but, do you think Winnipeg will give up that much for Yakypov?

My favourite quote,

"Aside from the murders, DC has one of the lowest crime rates in the country."

You can't get a bad rap on something you've never had. He's a floater.

True. Overtime parking is now almost non-existent! What's a murder or a few hundred? Tow them cars!

QUOTE(#11):

Do you dump Hall or Eberle, then? Better question, who has more value? Healthy, steady Eberle or explosive but risky Hall?

No. Hall, Eberle and RNH are pieces you want to build around. Those three are keepers. Nobody else is, including their captain.
