A's to share stadium with Giants?

06:23 AM ET 11.05 | To say the Oakland Athletics need a new stadium would be a severe understatement. This, of course, is the same venue that has had locker rooms and allegedly dugouts flood with raw sewage. Unfortunately, it's politics as usual and with a relatively cheap owner, things aren't progressing on a new stadium in Oakland. The team has looked elsewhere, even enlisting the assistance of Major League Baseball, though they too have come up with little of nothing, especially since the San Francisco Giants won't give up their territorial rights in San Jose thanks to the revenue provided by the Silicon Valley. Now, the latest option for the A's could be to share a stadium with the San Francisco Giants.

Is Santa Clara County only south bay county the Giants own? The A's should try to get a stadium in the far south western secton of Alameda County. They would still be much closer to Silicone Valley than the Giants.

Does any other MLB team own territorial rights? I've never heard of it until the Giants.

There are already 2 teams in the SF Bay Area. No team is being supported in Miami. That's an apples to oranges comparison. The A's are being force into staying in the poorer areas of the area. There was no siginificant market in the south bay when the Athletics moved to Oakland. The team is being financially strangled unnecessarily. San Jose who can support and wants their own team is being denied. Eventually this is going to happen no matter how much SF screams about it.

The Yankees shared Shea Stadium with the Mets for a couple of seasons 74-75! While Yankee Stadium was being refurbished!

Why don't the A's just relocate to Portland, OR?
