Something very different about Dwight Howard

07:21 AM ET 11.05 | The Clippers hung 137 points on Dwight Howard's Rockets Monday night, and yet there was something different about him in a good way. He was likeable by me, and I've never liked Howard. Because he's never been likeable. ... But he was likeable on Monday night, before the game and after the game and even, most tellingly, during the game -- during a defeat in which he picked up three fouls in the first quarter, didn't play the second, never put his imprint on the action and (oh by the way) was either booed or laughed at throughout the contest. If ever there was a game for pouting, self-pitying Dwight Howard to come out and play, this was it. But that Howard didn't show up. Maybe that Dwight Howard is gone, though surely it's too soon to say that.

He went from shagging rebounds for Kobe to shagging rebounds for James.

The grass isn't always greener on the other side of the fence!!!!

The writer must be clueless. Didn't he know that Howard was never wanted in LA especially when the superstar of LA never wanted to work w/ him? Jamison already admitted that they were always fighting.

I think their record will not be as good as last year's and they'll be bounced in the first round.

When you get two people who think it's all about them it rarely works out. I have no idea what the Lakers were thinking acquiring Howard in the first place. It was obviously not a fit.

It was like a men's league game last night.

No defense and everybody was a 3 point shooter........the Clippers just shot better than the Rockets is all.....both defenses were horrible

It should have worked if Kobe was willing to work with him. He was out to prove that Howard never belong in LA.

Skip Bayless couldn't have said it better on the First Take session topic about Dwight leaving L.A...
"Dwight just wants to be happy, and he wants to joke and he wants to clown, he wants to make ubsurd amounts of money which he does, he wants to win but only if it happens to happen, he wasn't bless with the superstars rage to win, the rage we saw in MJ, in Shaq, in Kobe, in Dwayne Wade pre Lebron, the rage to do whatever it takes to win, like the lakers were expecting him to replace Kobe he can't replace Kobe, because you cannot count on him to be the face of a franchise, so my expectations for Dwight are very low".
