Columbus courting crease controversy

07:31 AM ET 11.05 | After a punchless performance against Pittsburgh, Blue Jackets head coach Todd Richards shuffled his lines Monday in an effort to find a combination that will help -- and that includes between the pipes. Struggling goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky, meanwhile, spent much of practice working alone with goalie coach Ian Clark. Richards said he had not decided if Bobrovsky -- pulled on Friday and benched on Saturday -- will return to the net on Tuesday. It will not be an easy decision. Backup Curtis McElhinney saved 24 of 26 shots (25 of 26, really, when you consider the own goal scored by Blake Comeau) on Saturday. "It's just trying to figure out what's right for our group and for our goalies, both of them," Richards said. "We have to do something here to give us confidence."

All players slump...all of them...
I read a book by The Esposito Brothers a hundred years ago, (or so it seems) and like Tony said back then, "if a left wing has bad game, no one notices, but a goalie....."

being a goalie today means riding the ups and downs. Very few goalies have been able to remain consistently at the top.

this summer we were all in a panic because *gasp* every contending country had a better goalie than us.

If Vancouver was anything to go by, Halak showed us that a goalie can only take you SO FAR if your team is completely mismatched in every single other position on the ice.

Suddenly, both Team USA and Team Russia appear to have serious goalie woes. I see Finland as the only squad to really be rock solid in nets.

after Bob, russia has who in nets? Nabokov?
