Wallace compares C's to an expansion team

07:23 AM ET 11.06 | For starters, it should be noted that Gerald Wallace isn't complaining. He isn't offering a tale of woe. Let's get that part straight. The NBA veteran is simply admitting the obvious in response to direct questions and looking for ways to make things better in what is now a very trying and fluid situation with a Celtics team in makeover mode. "It's hard," Wallace said. "It's like starting from scratch zero with this team and trying to figure out what direction they're headed in and what pieces they're going to put together. For me, I've already been through that situation. I was on an expansion team in Charlotte. I've established myself. To have to start all over on a team that's starting from scratch is very difficult." For a guy in his 13th season, the fit seems difficult at best.

They Are Much Worse, Bro.

There is no surprise here. They 'built' the team for the draft.

hey bro..saw the lakers here last night and they don't look any better than the Celtics. enjoy your season!!

Wallace you are cooked....Thats what happens to players that never work on their game and who have bad contracts...

November 6, 2013  08:23 AM ET

What did Wallace expect? He obviously is dealing with denial. When you house clean a roster and get rid of the highest two paid players on the team with the most wisdom the result is usually what the Celtics are displaying night after night. Wallace need to take a serious look around and notice all the changes to the team; also himself. Rondo is injured, Pierce and Garnett are on the team he played for last season, Doc Rivers is coaching the Clippers, the current talent pool in Boston is not exactly a winning formula, get real dude!

The Celtics and the Lakers are FUBAR bro. It would be funny if Charlotte ends up with a better record than either team.

Didn't have much choice. Besides Hump, Wallace had the only large contract that could be moved. Had to match up salaries.
