07:36 AM ET 11.06 | Florida staged a rally, but eventually dropped to 3-8-4 on the season. Panthers management had a late night meeting following Tuesday's 4-3 overtime loss to Edmonton at the BB&T Center with GM Dale Tallon telling the Miami Herald the team would not be making a coaching change at this time. "There will be changes though," Tallon said outside the arena. "I don't make rash decisions. None of us are happy. I have to fix this and I will. We're better than this." Doug Cifu, the team's new minority owner and alternate governor, has been around the team the past few days and was part of the meeting. Cifu left the arena around 11:30 p.m. with Tallon, assistant GM Mike Santos and hockey operations director Mike Dixon following suit around 10 minutes later.

Because a coaching change would accomplish what, exactly?

Make the ill-informed fan base think management was doing something to improve?

Another opportunity for Rotten Ronnie's return?

ill-informed?
Are you hinting...nay, outright SUGGESTING that South Florida is NOT a hockey hotbed?

What is this "Panthers fanbase" you speak of, Slapster?

C'mon now. I've talked to both of 'em. :)

They will only recycle somebody who failed elsewhere. More than the coach needs fixed.

We would be so lucky.

At least he wouldn't have all those issues with the South Florida hockey media as there isn't any.

Bean bag?

I highly doubt that Dineen is the real problem here.

While he is a bit lumpy and looks like a lot of stuffing has shifted to one end, he's more of a gas bag.

On occasion a coaching change works. Like Toronto for example.

New York and Vancouver, too. Well...Vancouver anyway.

I read an article earlier this year that quoted Tim Hunter as saying Rotten Ron and Beerian are still pals. In that article it said Ronnie is semi-retired......whatever the frick that means
