Packers to promote Scott Tolzien

10:56 PM ET 11.06 | After learning that starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers would miss four to six weeks with a fractured collarbone, the Green Bay Packers began their search for depth and options at the position. While back up Seneca Wallace is expected to take over as the starter in Rodgers' absence, the team has also decided to promote Scott Tolzien from the practice squad to provide some added depth.

Niners dumped Tolzein for McLeod Bethel-Thompson. He does seem like the logical progression for backup after Seneca Wallace though.
