New OC in Gainesville?

07:28 AM ET 11.07 | Perhaps the heat on Will Muschamp rises a little too high a little too quickly. The real problem for the Gators -- and it's been the case since Tim Tebow left -- is on the offensive side of the ball. Tyler Murphy had actually played surprisingly well since replacing the injured Jeff Driskel at quarterback, but he has been battling a sprained shoulder in recent weeks. And the team still needs to find more offensive playmakers. If there's any area that Muschamp needs to improve on, it's getting more production on offense. Next year is a big season for the Gators, and I would expect a new offensive coordinator to be in place to help solve a woeful unit that is last in the SEC in total offense, last in passing offense, 13th in scoring and 13th in rushing. But Muschamp should be given time.

The tone of the article indicates that this season is a write-off for the Gators. Will they have any chomp left for FSU?

Pease better be gone.

More worried about Vandy this week than FSU.

New OC and say a 7/8 win season... You think Boom is good as gone??

Vandy gonna kick their behinds first, then the Noles will beat em by like 45 or more. But, we would do only a little better.

Yep.

An L to FSU, while suxing mightily, is much more expected than an L to (gulp) Vandy.

Hope a new OC means a new O-line coach too. Those 2 need to really be on the same page (duh, GR, no sheitt).

Darth Foley told Mus that he needs to keep the retirement plan under budget so put a revolving door on the OC's office entrance.

Not this year. Next year, only 8 wins or less and he will most likely be shown the door.

It is more of an open tryout so far.

Muschamp has had 2 OCs (Weis and Pease) and 1 Interim OC (RB coach Brian White)

I am going to guess that Pease finds other job somewhere and Joker will be the OC during the bowl game.

I could see Joker getting time in as OC, and it could work out.

And while I personally agree that Mus will most likely be back for a make/break year next season, if things really go to hell and Darth has a shot at a coach he really wants, I could see the ax swinging at the end of this season.

Man...Pease had OC offers from Florida and Alabama...and chose Florida. Saban had to move on to Nussmeyer. Thank God. Sometimes gifts come in hidden packages...

Non-story. Old news.
