07:31 AM ET 11.07 | T.J. Oshie may have shown obvious hockey talent from a young age, but it wasn't through watching a whole lot of hockey. Even as a player who would eventually become a first-round pick of the Blues, he was genuinely oblivious to what made the good teams good, the talented players more talented. "I didn't really watch hockey," Oshie said. "I just always kind of played it and looked at it as being a fun thing. I was just getting by on my skill. When I got here, it seemed like my skill only got me so far and then I kind of leveled out. Now I'm really starting to become a student of the game. I'm starting to use the coaches a lot more to help me work on my game. When I come to the rink, I want to get better every day, whereas before it was just all fun and games. There's still another level."

If Fan Nation paid posters that "didn't get it" over 4 mil per year there'd be a lot of wealthy people here. :-)

Yeah! Me for one. Think they're considering it? I can only hope.

The big difference is that he has some real talent. Many of the people who post here don't.

A couple years ago I attended a Blues-Red Wings game in St. Louis. A young woman with a passionate crush on TJ Oshie sat behind me with her brainwashed 4-year-old daughter. Throughout the entire game, both females sang praises to Oshie and mercilessly gushed about him as if he was Jesus, Superman and Luke Skywalker rolled into one person. Henceforth, the mere mention of the name Oshie makes me vomit in my mouth.

Some appear pleasant, but as soon they open their mouth they have a magical way of transforming a guy into Eminem.

My post was in response to Spiny's post number 4. The quote didn't come through.
