07:24 AM ET 11.08 | Make it three straight for the Heat, who had dropped below .500 after three games this season. After Thursday's win over the Los Angeles Clippers, Miami Heat forward LeBron James admitted that he hasn't been his normal self on the court lately due to lower back soreness that's bothered him over the past "couple" weeks. When James was out of the game, he was seen wearing a heat pack around his torso and lying down, attempting to stretch it out. James didn't rule out missing time to rest his back in the near future, but it's likely he'll play on Saturday when the Heat host the Boston Celtics. "If I can't get out of bed, I can't show up here," James said. "If I can't give enough to help us be successful, then I won't play. That's the one thing I know I will do."

Can't say I'd be too upset about that.

He'll play... This is not a story when he says if he can help the team he'll play. He's trying to make excuses by not making excuses...lol

First sign that your playing days are numbered. Usually when you begin to notice the soreness of the back its the first signal that the situation with your back will only get worst as you age and continue to play the game. This is usually a result of all those bodies making contact with you and the constant wear and tear of working out to keep in shape year in and year out; speaking from experience.

QUOTE(#8):

Three straight trips to the NBA Finals takes a toll. Those guys have to play at a high level late in the season and then start again a few months later.Look how battle worn the Lakers looked when they were going for their 3-peat. It takes a toll.

Didn't stop the Celtics in the 60s.

LOL

We can only hope. Long live the era of the Pacers!

Probably ought to win one title before declaring an "Era of the Pacers". Saw Paul George weighing in on the shortcomings of the Bulls. Maybe he could also weigh in on how to completely disappear in a game seven.

Nope, I did not watch either game. Was as a benefit to support a friend running for county prosecutor. Saw SC this morning though...

I am truly looking forward to LeBron missing a few games. Then, we can have a one hour ESPN special on his "decision" to return and in which city he'll return to play the next game.
