Jobs at stake for Sooners OC and QB

07:29 AM ET 11.08 | Baylor has not been kind to Bob Stoops or Oklahoma lately, and the Floyd Casey Stadium blues set in again Thursday night. The Sooners finished with just 237 total yards. ... This was a performance so rotten, it makes you wonder if [Josh Heupel's] or Blake Bell's or anyone's job is safe. Stoops said Bell wasn't the problem Thursday night and would remain the OU quarterback. That's probably true, though you wonder if Bell will keep the job going into 2014, when the Sooners will have a veteran team but will need a quality QB to return to championship status. Bell was not good at all against Baylor, but he wasn't the only suspect. The Sooners failed to block the Bears at the point of attack. If this OU team can't run on this Baylor team, the Sooners have no chance.

MO Zero U was just overrated mainly because of the the ND win. It now appears pollsters gave them more credit for that win than warranted. This year was really a rebuilding year for the land thieves. They'll be okay in the future if they get the QB and some depth issues resolved.

And Baylor didn't really play all that well. The front seven on defense did but if you watch closely the DBs didn't finish off many tackles. That'll cost them eventually.

I think Boob's job is the one that should be in question.

Question for land thief fans. Will you ever return to prominence under Boob Stoops?

November 8, 2013  08:37 AM ET

Absolutely no QB on the team. If they had one the game would have been much closer.

They have been fortunate so far to not have played any potent or even competent offenses. They may not until a bowl game. B12 is a very bad conference.

Ummm, yeah, uhh, what were you guys saying again?

Sorry but the Hot Clicks overfloweth and it kinda caught my attention...and kept it....

If Okie Lite's back get to the second level, I don't see Baylor's DBs making the tackles. It looked like they covered the pass fairly well but they didn't tackle receivers or RBs worth a damn IMHO.

The Texas HS 7 on 7 curse.

It looked like they covered the pass well because Bell is so god awful. Not only poor passes but he would try to hit the wrong receiver.

Petty was missing open guys early too

they were just too unsettled in the beginning

It wasn't until the game was out of reach that the missed tackles really started happening. But yeah, Bell is horrid

Baylor can play better IMHO.

November 8, 2013  09:23 AM ET

These 2 teams face each other every year, they know each other's tendencies, have lots of film on each other etc. Hence Petty running the read option so much which was a surprise to so many.

OU had horrid QB play, and Baylor exploited OU's LB weakness.

Football is football.

Blake Bell was exposed again last night as not ready to QB a top 10 team.
