Players-only meeting for sinking Flyers

07:31 AM ET 11.08 | The Flyers have already seen one coach fired this season, but the ship seems still to be listing, and it led to a team meeting Thursday night. "We want to stick together," 16-year NHL veteran defenseman Hal Gill said. "We talked about some things. We know it's a long season and there is plenty of time for us to turn things around, but it's got to be now. It's got to be the next game." ... [Craig Berube] said he did not get involved in the team meeting. It was players only. Berube generally does not go into the dressing room after games, a rule, anyway. "We talked about a lot of stuff, not really anything I'm going to share with you guys, but we talked about a lot of things," Wayne Simmonds said. Is that speech kind of getting to be the same every day or is it something new? "No, we know what we did wrong."

Kind of feel bad for my Flyer fan friends. It's one thing to be playing awful hockey but to embarrass themselves like they did makes it soooo much worse.

Actually, continued losing will be the only way to force rebuilding and getting management to realize they can't compete in today's game. This team is WAY too slow to win. If they win a few, Homer will try to bandaid the situation, postponing the inevitable.

So is it mean still to point out Claude Giroux hasn't scored in 21 games? If Kessel had done that there would be fireworks going off over most of your houses every morning...

But Claude's actually likeable Danny. Kessel's like a wet sandwich at a party.

Had a friend convince me to get a cheese steak with spiced spinach one time. He is now an ex-friend because that was the worst stuff I ever tastes. It was even worse than boiled peanuts.

Where is Phantomphan in all this?

In his last e-mail he said he was weeping quietly at home.
