07:34 AM ET 11.08 | When the Rangers played in Columbus Thursday night, they did so without Rick Nash in what would have been his homecoming of sorts. Since sustaining the head injury on an elbow from Sharks defenseman Brad Stuart on Oct. 8, Nash has rarely been seen around the team, although a source informed ESPNNewYork.com that he has performed intermittent physical activity at the Rangers' training center in Westchester and "continues to do so." But any question of a potential return is met with the Rangers' constant refrain with regard to their $7.8 million dollar man: "Nothing new." Nash was dispatched to see Michigan-based concussion specialist Dr. Jeffrey Kutcher, a source told both ESPN.com's Pierre LeBrun and ESPNNewYork.com's Katie Strang, but that visit was not recent.

NHL needs to figure out how to reduce these types of injuries. The rules have not kept up with the size and speed of the players, the improvement in equipment (other than the headgear), and the way the game is played today. Big talents are having their careers cut short. Seems that some players are hitting to hurt the other guy not just to make a check.

Aside from this article being completely uninformative...though what else to expect from anything related to ESPN....
Perhaps if the rule was made that if you injure another player on something like this, you have to be suspened...without pay...till he is able to come back...these guys would think twice about that slew foot or elbow to the head....

Kind of surprised to see it was Stuart that did that, didn't think he was that kind of 'D' man.

The big news is that there is no news. . . . . Get it?

I think that the only way your going to see people changing the way the play is if you suspend them for the length of the injury.
