Dolphins assistant coach quietly leaves team

11:05 AM ET 11.09 | Chris Mosley, an assistant offensive line coach for the Miami Dolphins, has left the team, the Sun Sentinel has learned. Mosley's absence cannot directly be connected to the workplace issues that have engulfed the Dolphins since offensive tackle Jonathan Martin left the team last week. His departure took place in early October, and his role has been filled by Marco Rivera, a coaching intern, for at least the past five weeks. "Chris was on an extended leave dealing with a personal matter, and he and the organization mutually agreed to part ways," a team spokesman said. But considering the source of the Dolphins' workplace environment scandal centers around the offensive line unit, and what took place inside those meetings, it is possible Mosley could become part of the NFL's independent investigation into Martin's allegations that some Dolphins players bullied him, and created a hostile work environment.

He shouldn't make any big ticket purchases anytime soon.

Lot's of bad media for the fins these days. Time to start throwing people under the bus. Perhaps they should do what NE did and bring in Tebow to re-re-direct peoples attention for awhile. That was damned effective. You never heard much about Hernandez after Tebow came on the scene.

The NFL boilerplate scandal script is moving along to schedule.

Nobody knew anything
Express shock that it could even happen
Claim impartial investigation
Scapegoat a player
Scapegoat a coach
Issue several apologetic statements
Vow change
Return to business
