Will Knicks shop Iman Shumpert?

09:45 AM ET 11.10 | J.R. Smith is back -- for better or worse -- and his presence in the lineup will take some of the scoring burden off Carmelo Anthony and possibly push Iman Shumpert closer to the exit. "The rest of the league seems to value Iman more than the Knicks do," said one Eastern Conference executive. "And his value is high." Including Shumpert in a deal for Rajon Rondo is something Mike Woodson would sign up for immediately but it's also pure fantasy. Ask yourself, why would the Boston Celtics trade their best player to a hated rival that doesn't have first-round picks to trade? A more plausible scenario is moving Shumpert for Denver Nuggets forward Kenneth Faried, especially when you factor in the health of Amar'e Stoudemire and Kenyon Martin. Plus, the Knicks believe they have insurance in the backcourt with rookie Tim Hardaway Jr.

him for faried ?I mean I think manimal is a real nice hustle guy- (and I'd even say at this stage he might be a bit better)but he kinda is a bench guy long term....cause he's too short to be a PFand shump, if he develops should be a legit starting sgNY shouldn't make that move-

Too much value your putting on Shump. He hasn't done anything and hasn't been consistent. If he was consistent than NY would have been winning games. The Manimal has shown that he can be a very valuable piece to a contending team. He gives his all and brings a lot of energy. Shaw somehow don't know how to use him.

Was Dennis Rodman too short to be a starter?

Just curious.

Faried's per-36 minute stats are 15.2ppg and 11.9rpg.

He just needs a chance to start and get most of the minutes.

Shumpert's value is minimal. He has not returned to the level pre knee surgery and his talent ceiling has already been reached.

i dont know why people think that shooting guards that cannot shoot are worth so much...that always puzzles me

Trading Shumpert in order to "save the season" is a mistake. The season is less than two weeks old, so there is nothing to save yet. Knicks knew they were in for a tough go with Amare taking 20+ mil in salary and well past his prime, and Smith with all of his problems.

With Chandler out, hopefully they just take a step back and give the future some thought.

And you think the Knicks would know how to use him?
