10:59 AM ET 11.10 | Amid recent suggestions from some unnamed league scouts that Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston would probably be the first overall player chosen in the 2014 draft if he was eligible for the lottery, there were some quiet rumblings in the rumor-verse last week that the Florida State star might actually consider challenging the NFL's "three-year rule." Sources inside the FSU program and close to Winston adamantly insisted to NFP that the speculation was totally unfounded.

Oh let's dust off the Jadaveon Clowney boiler plate and tee up a 2013 version. Do we have to put up with this crap every year now?

There are very few (maybe .005%) players that could jump after a single year of college play. This is not basketball for crying out loud! This is an extremely physical sport and 99.9% of 19 year olds don't have the strength and technique required to play at the highest level ... and they don't develop said strength and technique in just 1 year.

Leave it alone.

One case study: Maurice Clarett (I know, I know... he was already damaged goods beforehand.)

Case study two- mike williams, gave him more time to eat twinkees and then have matt millen draft him. No one likes a 6'5 245lb wr.

He can challenge it... but he will lose...

You got to have $$$$$$$ to fight the NFL on this matter....
