What happened to Nnamdi Asomugha?

11:03 AM ET 11.10 | Maybe his release by San Francisco last week, with the 49ers needing to clear a roster spot for cornerback Eric Wright, who was activated from the non-football injury list, didn't end the career of 11-year veteran Nnamdi Asomugha. But an NFC personnel director, who had pored over video of Asomugha's last couple years before taking our call, claimed there are "maybe three or four" cornerbacks on his "emergency list" he would think about signing before considering the onetime Pro Bowl defensive back. That's not to say some club desperate for an experienced corner or a veteran presence at the position won't bite. "(But) it's just not there," the personnel director said. "His speed is down, he can't play the slot, he's not nearly as physical a presence as he was a few years ago. And I don't see him moving inside (to safety)."

Haynesworth in a slimmer package. Cash put out the fire that got him there.

I maintain that he was never any good to begin with.

The Asomugha hype in Oakland was built around one statistically productive season and the claim that many QBs didn't challenge him. However, Oakland's #2 cornerback position was so pitiful, there was rarely any reason to challenge Asomugha.

And for his size, he's a terrible tackler.

Judging by that photo, I'd say the Doctor decided to beat him with an ugly stick when he was born.......then he probably slapped his mama.

I'm still laughing at that!
