11:30 AM ET 11.10 | Former champion Bobby Labonte doesn't know where or if he'll race next season, but as he prepares for his final Sprint Cup race of the season Sunday at Phoenix International Raceway, he says he still wants to drive. Labonte will not compete for JTG Daugherty next week at Homestead-Miami Speedway, making Sunday his final race of the season. AJ Allmendinger, who will take over the ride next season, will drive the car at Homestead. Labonte would like to remain in Cup but finds the idea of racing in the Camping World Truck Series intriguing. "That would be something I probably wouldn't have thought of three or four years ago," said the 49-year-old Labonte, who is finishing his 22nd year in Cup.

And maybe if Labonte would have shown better results on the track.. he wouldn't find the truck series 'intriguing'

Mark Martin said in a recent interview that older drivers have to admit that being older does impact everything you do as a driver........which is why M.M. is not planning to drive anymore....except on an "emergency driver needed" basis.......he realizes his limitations now.......Labonte should do the same......will he fare better in the trucks?.....who knows......time to go into ownership or some kind of management or walk away.

Lot ofpeople might not agree but this is a young mans/women sport.....once a driver reach's about 40 his skills drop start to drop off rapidly the following yrs. Lot of it just being the stress and fatigue of driver these cars.

Good point.. look at Mark Martin.. he's the same age as I am.. but looks 10 years older than I do.. well I am aging gracefully.. there is alot of pressure to preform in the sport now

A guy goes into a bar in Louisiana where there's a robot bartender! The robot says, "What will you have?" The guy says, "Whiskey." The robot brings back his drink and says to the man, "What's your IQ?" The guy says," 168." The robot then proceeds to talk about physics, space exploration and medical technology.

The guy leaves, . . . but he is curious . . . so he goes back into the bar. The robot bartender says, "What will you have?" The guy says, "Whiskey." Again, the robot brings the man his drink and says, "What's your IQ?" The guy says, "100." The robot then starts to talk about NASCAR, Budweiser, the Saints and LSU Tigers.

The guy leaves, but finds it very interesting, so he thinks he will try it one more time. He goes back into the bar. The robot says, "What will you have?" The guy says, "Whiskey," and the robot brings him his whiskey. The robot then says, "What's your IQ?" The guy says, "Uh, about 50."

The robot leans in real close and says, "SO, . . . you people . . . still happy . . . with Obama?"
