Roger Clemens, who will pitch at Double-A Trenton on Wednesday, has secured an unusual way of traveling from Manhattan to New Jersey's capital: He and organizational pitching guru Billy Connors will board John Madden's customized bus. The outing for Trenton will be Clemens' second and final one if he comes through it healthy. If that's the case, he will start for the Yankees on Monday night in Toronto.

I didn't realize Roger's ego fits on a bus.

May 21, 2007  10:31 AM ET

So angry, so early in the morning.

May 21, 2007  10:56 AM ET

Go Roger its your birthday.

May 21, 2007  11:26 AM ET

I wish the yankees would get ponsoon back. That was hilarious. Any GM who brought that guy to your team deserves to get canned. Not that us Jays fans can talk, we did get John Tompson for **** sake. Seriously though, maybe the yankees want HIM since they're so desperate right now. Who do the Yankees even have to trade if their situation gets worse? Like what if (weeks after the Jays pummel rocket in his 1st start back) the yankees are still stinking up the AL east? What desperation trade does Cashman offer then??? haha I love seeing the yankees lose.

May 21, 2007  11:51 AM ET

Then you must be enjoying yourself.
Ponson was a terrible pickup, but thet was a desperate act, that team had holes in the rotation that the minors were not prepared to plug. He didn't stay long though.
The young pitchers for the Yankees have done quite well for themselves this year. It is good to see and regardless of what the standings say it is great for the future of the Yankees.
I guess desperation means different things to different people.

May 21, 2007  12:23 PM ET

either cashman has lost his mind or was never competent in the first place...it seems like since he has had "more control", the yanks have been sinking...get rid of him...he treats his job like he is in some fantasy league or something. Get someone who actually understands baseball well...not some guy who was picked last every day in gym class.

May 21, 2007  12:32 PM ET

Every year Clemens plays again he is losing so much respect from fans. He needs to learn when to call it quits!!!!

May 21, 2007  12:38 PM ET

Is MLB running out of great players to talk about that they have to focus on a once-great player trying to hang on to his career? I don't even follow baseball but it's surely annoying seeing this guy's face on front page news. Yankees suck so bad this year; bringing Clemen in won't make a difference.

May 21, 2007  12:41 PM ET

you guys are ridiculous....hes a good pitcher one that will make a difference in ANY bullpen and if that wasnt true then boston wouldnt have made an attempt to get him. roger clemens sucks? cmon now just because your talent will never even reach single a status do not mock a man that at 45 can strike out 22 24 yr olds like it wasnt hard for him. Give the man and yankees a break.....its not our fault we have won 26 world series

May 21, 2007  12:49 PM ET

As a Red Sox fan, I have to say with all due respect, this is a move that reeks of the Lou Gorman years....the splash move for fans not one that will really impact the overall situation. That said baseball is a marathon, so even though you can feel good or bad about your teams start, what does it really mean when an 83 win team won it all last year??

May 21, 2007  12:51 PM ET

I am not saying that he sucks, I know he is going to have an impact on the Yankee's bullpen. He is losing a lot of respect every year though, he thinks he owns this league and can have anything he wants, and oddly enough the teams are allowing this.

May 21, 2007  12:52 PM ET

Uh, Wlid card sucks?
Uh, Parity sucks?
Uh, anyone can beat anyone on anygiven day?
Uh, no wait I know this one.

May 21, 2007  12:57 PM ET

why is this even a story?

May 21, 2007  01:29 PM ET

Clemens will continue to have an impact, as long as he is juiced up like he is!!!!

May 21, 2007  01:35 PM ET

I'm going to reiterate my stance every time I hear a Yankee fan utter the words '26 championships'....Ok..we all know that they are the most successful franchise in history...thats great.

Remember the all star football captain that could do no wrong in high school? He had it all...the girls..the success..the awards. Nothing could stop him. Well now hes mopping floors and all he talks about is how good he was. But what does that mean? He is, unfortunately, a joke. I wont go as far as to say the Yankees are a joke. But I dont see any of you wearing those 'rings' you speak of down the street. So get yourselves out of that highschool all star mentality...and argue like adults.

Hey Moondizzle, I don't like to recycle my jokes from previous posts, but to complement your post about "26 championships", I thought I would share this. I recently referred to it as "Yankees Tourette's Syndrome" - you know, where Yankees fans just randomly utter "26 championships" at really inappropriate moments? It's like they can't control their outbursts. Comical, really. And, sadly, only appropriate when the topic is, "What MLB franchise has the most successful history?".

Yankees fans - listen up. "26 championships" might impress Vinnie at the local pool hall, but it really doesn't mean **** to any current baseball discussion. The rest of MLB fans, regardless of their favorite team, acknowledge that the Yankees have won more World Series than any other team. Now that we have that out of the way, let's see if you can participate in a normal baseball discussion for a change.

Turducken

May 21, 2007  02:39 PM ET

If they can recycle the same line for eternity we can recycle our jokes or posts as long as it takes. We're not talking rocket science (no pun) here. Its pretty simple. Most successful franchise ever. Thats true. And then what? Theres little substance to any response after that.

Turducken may be the most fantastic thing I've ever had. Thank you John Madden.

Wow, it must really burn you guys up to have to repeat that lame stuff about history being in the past...of mcourse it is int he past, it is history, something verrrrrry important in baseball.
And let us not forget, he who does not know his history is doomed to repeat it, uh wait, don't think about that, it's not important for you.
