07:28 AM ET 11.12 | Marcus Mariota's getting back up on the proverbial horse comes with a wrinkle. Mariota has been dealing with a left knee issue that was exacerbated during Thursday's 26-20 loss to Stanford, when he was helped off the field during the third quarter. He returned and finished the game, but appeared to be affected by the knee. Eugene television station KVAL reported before the Stanford game that Mariota has a sprained medial collateral ligament strain in his left knee. ... On Monday, Mariota said he wore a brace while practicing, and felt confident enough in how he performed to say he would play against the Utes (4-5 overall, 1-4 Pac-12). "Anybody when they hurt something, they have to go through a phase of just building your confidence," Mariota said.

Common element in today's threads: depth at QB. If your starter goes down, is there a competent backup to lead the offensive attack?

No, they transferred somewhere else where they could play immediately. If they didn't, their girlfriend is still at that school.

Well 21, It looks like your Buckeyes inched up. I did not think Stanford would beat Oregan, guess I was wrong.

Acually Mariota didn't have a bad game, just not a great game. He was 20/34 for 250 yards and two tds. What hurt the Ducks, was that they couldn't run the ball against Stanford. Oregon only had 62 "total" yads on the ground, way below their season average.

Still plenty of football to play. Take care of your business and you will return to NC game with a shot at 4 in 5 yrs. Unequal in the history of the sport. Four in the last five years.

No wonder your fan base is so spoiled.

I thought it was daddy who was doing the crying. Oh for crying out loud it was a bawl-fest in Eugene.

Perhaps the least intelligent thing I've read today. And that is saying something considering I start the morning with the Sacramento Bee.

Don't know how much of a confidence builder an underperforming Utah is going to be.
