The chance Stoops won't take

07:29 AM ET 11.12 | After perhaps some deliberation -- for now, anyway -- the decision is set in stone. Blake Bell remains Oklahoma's starting quarterback, and Bob Stoops gave little indication Monday that the junior's seat is even lukewarm. "I'm not gonna change what we're doing with the quarterbacks," Stoops said. Since taking over as starter in the Sooners' third game, Bell has looked really good at times, and pretty bad at others. He completed just 15 of 35 pass attempts for 150 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in Thursday's 41-12 loss at Baylor. ... "I'm not gonna grade it in front of everybody," Stoops said when asked about Bell's performance in last Thursday's loss to Baylor. "It's been inconsistent. I think that's the fairest thing to say."

Well...at least he doesn't try to hide players doing illegal things and then cry to the NCAA to let them play in the Bowl game....but hey, you go ahead and talk trash about other teams...it's cool

Glass houses, etc.

So is there a competent backup to Belldozer at this time, BR?

He was good enough to beat the mighty Irish.

But, so was TSUN and Pitt.

OU's had a good run of QBs but they finally ran out. Bigger question...is it a trend or just temporary?

I think there is..either Trevor or Kendall would be better than BB right now. IMO.

Thye used Trevor as the Scout QB when they practiced for TAMU and the defense said he was awesome in that role...but then I'm not the HC....

Next year, both Thompson and Thomas could prove to be very good.

I'm very familiar with Thomas, give him his redshirt year and if things click, 0U will be ok.

LOL...I'm sitting here and it is funny.

OU has an outside chance of going 9-3 (MAYBE 10-2) and I'm pissing and moaning.

MSST has an OUTSIDE....WAY outside chance of going 6-6 and I'm proud they had a good showing against TAMU....

speaking of Bevo, read some of the details of the new AD Patterson's contract.

1.4M plus a lot of incentives. The one I loved was, "if the Dept runs in solvency, an annual $100k bonus..."

It would take a lot to not be solvent, running the most profitable athletic entity this side of the Cowboys or Yankees

So Bob sees this season as "meh", so he's at least saving some redshirts?

November 12, 2013  10:47 AM ET

Most of the updated bowl projections I have looked at have OU playing Nebraska in Tempe. Wouldn't that be fun for the old-timers!

That would be fun.

I also have seen (Steele's projections) Texas vs TAMU in the Cotton...
