Desperation time for Brooklyn

07:17 AM ET 11.14 | So much for a good start to their West Coat trip, which will next take the Nets to Phoenix and Los Angeles. The most expensive team in the NBA looks like a contender on paper, as multiple Nets pointed out in the locker room Wednesday, but on the actual basketball court they've just been slow, lackadaisical and mostly on the wrong side of the scoreboard. It was all on disgraceful display in a 107-86 defeat Wednesday to the Kings. "For us right now, this is desperation," said Jason Terry. ... That high-powered offense? It shot 38 percent. The toughness brought along with Garnett? The Nets fell in a hole in the second quarter and never recovered. Maybe it's time Kidd actually stands up and shows emotion, because sitting stoically and preaching "the process" isn't eliciting much pride.

"The most expensive team in the NBA looks like a contender on paper"...

Paper don't play on the court. Inexperienced, rookie coaches are seldom successful right out the gate!

Desperate But Not Serious, Bros?

November 14, 2013  08:33 AM ET

Kevin Garnett is an over paid, over rated crybaby wanna-be thug. It's a damn shame that he's allowed to get away with his style of play "just because".

Wow! This is like the team from the west coast last year. They form a super team and have them at the top but everything is going against what's on paper. The Nets don't have energy. Just a bunch of old or broken down former stars. There's no youth that will help speed up the tempo.

It's a bit early in the season to throw around the word "desperation". This team has a lot of new faces and will need time to gel.

A bit early to panic. The media loves to make an issue out of nothing.

SMH.

Yes and no. They have veterans that should be able to keep this team together. DWill has to step up and I think he is just playing as one of the guys. They are too inconsistent. They beat good teams and lose to bad teams.

Agreed - But if they don't sound the panic alarm then they will not have much to write about...

So true. There are a few teams that are starting out better than expected (76ers, Suns) that will cool off and become what we thought they were. Over time things will even out and they will begin to play better together. Brooklyn will be fine. Ditto for the Knicks, Bulls and Houston.

they only get aroused to play the heat, due to Pierce & KG, other than that they don't really bring it.
A blow out to the kings?
The magic?
And they are suppose to win it all?
Ha!

the hottest team in the NBA are the pacers, can't forget them.
And am glad they are so hot.
Nobody is talking about the two time champs, I love it!
All eyes are on the pacers(when will they lose) and the nets.

QUOTE(#14):

You need to see them for who they really are. Old and slow.

And you need quit being a hypocrite. One minute most on here are saying it's early and after a few bad games it's time to press the panic button?

Get out of here with that hypocritical mess.
