07:25 AM ET 11.14 | Exactly what has Jerry Kill's role been with the Gophers these past few weeks? Basically, it seems like he's back to work full-time, and the only difference has been that he's been coaching from the press box coaching booth on Saturdays. ... On Oct. 10, Kill announced that he was taking time to treat his epilepsy. He went to a level-four epilepsy treatment center in Grand Rapids, Mich., for a few days and a spent some time at his downtown Minneapolis home, away from the office. He visited Gophers practice before the team left for the Northwestern game on Oct. 18. That night, his wife, Rebecca, drove him to a hotel about 90 miles outside of Evanston, Ill. Kill surprised the team by showing up at Northwestern, and spent that game mostly watching from the coaching booth. Kill, 52, has been at every practice since that day.

Watching some Charley Weis lookalike take his job.

It looks like to me coach Kill is very much involved calling in plays from upstairs.
I wonder for how long is a head coach allowed to do this?

Speaking of which, whatever happened to the other "whale" of a coach at Kansas? What field is he tilting these days?

Well seems like Minnie Mouse AD is fine with it until Keel is ready..

They are winning so its not a problem

Speaking of coach Weis, when Charlie broke his leg and coached from the booth he said he felt a great advantage being up there instead of the sideline.
Its where he belongs as an OC if he still wishes to coach in CFB after KU fires him, IMO.

He moved to Texas.

But they need to reinforce the support structure for the press box before he goes up there.

So that's the cause of the recent earthquakes.

And to think people were blaming fracking.

Actually, Tracy Claeys is fiercely loyal to Jerry Kill, as are most of Minnie's senior staff.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't you also say they'd lose to Indiana and Penn St?
