Wild lacking will to fight

07:30 AM ET 11.14 | In the end, Minnesota took a 2-1 shootout victory -- but it wasn't pretty and didn't come without incident. Boos rained down on Wild players near the end of their five-minute power play in the third period. Minnesota was trailing Toronto 1-0, had managed just one shot during the lengthy man advantage and hadn't responded physically to a couple earlier cheap hits the way fans had hoped. ... Fans wanted the Wild drop the gloves and send a message physically. The Wild opted to try to make Toronto pay with goals. That's the way, after all, the team is constructed. "Would I love to have a tough team and a puck-possession team and all these things?" [Mike Yeo] said. "It'd be great. But do we match up against that team's toughness? No, we don't."

If TOR had more than 1 functioning Centre, this is a non-issue Danny

Nice giveaway by Phil the Thrill there.

I missed the game, but by the tone of the article, I am guessing that the Wild pulled a Buffalo and did not "respond" to the vicious, unprovoked manslaughter perpetrated by Kadri on their goalie?

Milbury was saying that this is why you need fighting- "maybe the Wild should go after a top Toronto player and that would make Kadri think twice". No it wouldn't. It would create another round of retaliation and retribution and teams will continue to sign guys like Boogard and John Scott. Make purposeful elbows to the head 25-30 game suspensions. That will take $1mil (or more) from a player and hurt the offending player's team for a third of the season. Something has to be designed to put the burden on the offending team in a serious way. A 3 game suspension for Kadri won't do anything at all.

They'd better show some fight come playoff time, because physical play gets ratcheted up another level.

Now, now..............................don't get frustrated. While he can make you crazy.............I think the guy is insanely talented. I'd love to have him. Personally I'd let Toronto give you Kadri, Kessel and Reimer if you'd send Geno to the Caps. Work for you?

:-)

Thanks for posting that Danny. I'm late because we were involved in a new drinking games. We all had a shot every time Kessel gave away the puck. I was pissed by the mid point of the second period. Try it if you dare. :)

This may jar you Slap but I think Homer finally got it right with Mason.

Not yet DWI, but all those stupid penalties he takes are getting old. He doesn't help the Pens if he's in the box so he needs to learn to skate away. Its frustrating because the guy has a boat load of talent, but its just not producing that great now.

In Toronto, we play the same game except with cocaine, given our role models.

I haven't slept yet.

Did you see the video of the council meeting. Freakin' hilarious. Everybody except the Chamber of Commerce loves this guy.

And with a home-'n-home scheduled Friday and Saturday don't expect any sleep this weekend.
