01:12 AM ET 11.15 | The college basketball season is not even two weeks old, but one team has already lost a key player to a season-ending injury. The Washington Huskies been left out of the NCAA Tournament in back-to-back seasons and their hopes of making it back there this season took a hit Sunday, after forward Jernard Jarreau tore his anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, which will cause him to miss the rest of the season. The injury occurred less than two minutes into the Huskies season-opener. Washington announced the results of an MRI on Jarreau's injured knee Wednesday morning. Jarreau was injured when he went down awkwardly on a breakaway with 18:25 left in the first half of the opener against Seattle on Sunday.

You gotta know that hurts all, his feelings, coaches, fans, much less his pain. Best of luck.

Because the young man will not get to fully enjoy this essential part of his college experience. Give him a sympathetic nod, then move on to other matters of more immediate concern. It's the polite thing to do.

Because this PROVES that the UNFAIR rules FORCING players to go to college is a HUGE reason these guys get injured and it's UNFAIR to FORCE them to SACRIFICE draft position and TORPEDO their earnings potential just because of outdated reasoning that FORCES them to take WORTHLESS college classes while GREEDY universities make MILLION off of these poor VICTIMS.
