01:22 AM ET 11.15 | While the New York Mets have some talent in their minor league system, their Major League club needs some help. That's not to say the roster is void of any solid talent, but top to bottom there are warts that may be too big for immediate fixing which has lead the Mets front office to explore some roster moves including possibly trading infielder Daniel Murphy. Murphy will be 29 a month into the 2014 season and given his arbitrational status is set to end in the relatively near future, keeping Murphy in New York if a tangible asset is available doesn't make a ton of sense.

No one will confuse Murphy with Matt Kemp. However, he's a .280 hitter with the potential to hit 20+ HRs away from Citi Field.

If the Reds move Phillips they may be calling the Mets about a trade involving Murphy.

He can steal a base or two for you as well.

The guy is the absolute worst base runner, he has taken his team out of many big innings and games, but he's a great guy who everyone roots for because he plays hard, that's probably his biggest asset, he's always ready to go!
