07:28 AM ET 11.15 | Eric Bledsoe may already look like the breakout player NBA pundits expected, but he'll have to earn his dues in Phoenix. The four-year combo guard is averaging 21.1 points, 7.1 assists, 1.8 steals and is shooting 51.4 percent in eight games with the Suns. Although Bledsoe is looking like he'll become a surefire star in the league, Suns president of basketball operations Lon Babby hesitated to call him a franchise player Thursday while on Arizona Sports 620's The Dan Bickley Show with Vince Marotta. "Well, he's 23 years old and he's certainly talented enough. I think we look at him more as he's an important part of our core going forward," Babby said. "Where he is in the precise pecking order remains to be seen, and it depends on who else we have here."

Nothing like pushing that overreaction button early in the season

Bledsoe is for real. He just played behind CP3 in LA. If Wall can get big time money than Bledsoe should be able to get 3/4 of his salary contract.

Bledsoe is a super duper player! He is the real deal, what every franchise need if you want to win (superstar).

Wall shouldn't have gotten it.

The Clips are worse off without him...

Smart move, "Don't tip your hand too soon", might cost you in the long run, which IT WILL.

True that but they picked up a nice backup PG plus they got better outside shooting. Advantage Clippers...for now.

I think the overreaction button has been pushed so many times that it's permanently broken...

Just hang on and Bledsoe will prove all the naysayers are wrong. The Clippers got screwed in the swap off...

Too early to say but Bledsoe is hard as hell to guard and is doing better in the pick and roll than expected. Phoenix is going no where but developing Bledsoe at this rate they will have to keep him. It isn't even about his shooting but that is part of it he is running the team. He learned some things from CP3
