10:31 AM ET 11.16 | The Seminoles wiped Clemson out on national television on Oct. 19 and then were gifted with last week's Stanford win against Oregon. That Nov. 7 upset secured Florida State's hold on No. 2 in the Bowl Champion Series standings. Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota's less-than-perfect performance also elevated Seminoles quarterback Jameis Winston as the Heisman front-runner. The future is candy canes and rainbows and "uh-oh, this just in: Winston has been linked to a sexual criminal complaint filed last December. Top programs don't mind national publicity, but the one outlet you don't want working your beat is TMZ Sports. The details are murky and Winston's lawyer is denying any wrongdoing. However, the case is open, so we know it's not yet open and shut. Winston is expected to start Saturday's game and there is no reason, yet, to panic. Coach Jimbo Fisher said Winston has taken every rep in practice and offered that being successful comes with a certain level of "clutter."

A sexual assault investigation as mere "clutter." Spin doctoring extraordinaire.

It will be interesting to see how ESPiN handles their latest love child at 7:00 today. Will they throw 11 weeks of sunshine pumping down the drain? Or will they continue to p|mp him as the greatest thing since JFF? Will they air an in-game poll to gauge viewer's opinions concerning the scandal?

Film at 11 ahem I mean 7.

Haven't had a chance to see this kid in action. Is he really better than Manziel?

Sparty at Nebraska will be the only game on at the bar, as it should be.

This whole story is fishy. Winston has yet to be interviewed by the cops in an assault that happened 11 months ago. The suspect was supposedly 5 foot 9 to 5 foot 11. Winston is 6 foot 4. The suspect had straight hair-Winston's is not.

I'm not an FSU fan but seriously, why is this story coming just now? When some young kid has success, all the media wants to do is tear him down to create some headlines and sell as space. Is it possible to ever lead with a positive story?! With "bullying" being the new "hot word" I'd say the media bullies people. Shame in you media. Go launch an investigation on yourselves. jag offs!!

The media and ND haters did everything they could to destroy Manti T'eo for getting hoaxed last year. Thankfully he was strong enough to get through it and is on his way to a great pro career and life. Unfortunately the media frenzy over Winston will probably cost him the Heisman but hopefully he has a good support system to help him get past all this (assuming it isn't true).
