10:34 AM ET 11.16 | Left-handed pitcher J.P. Howell has recanted a statement he made in Friday's editions of The Times about seeing Yasiel Puig bullied in the Dodgers clubhouse. In an interview with Dodgers.com reporter Ken Gurnick, Howell said, "I was asked if Puig had been bullied and I said yes, but I meant by fans and media and people on the outside that don't know him. Never in the clubhouse. Are you kidding? People early in the season said our clubhouse wouldn't have chemistry, and it turned out to be an awesome clubhouse -- everybody got along." The Times' Bill Shaikin, who interviewed Howell earlier in the week, is standing by his reporting. Dodgers.com did not speak with Shaikin.

Bullied by "...fans and media and people on the outside that don't know him"? Geez, I had the impression he was everyone's darling.

So management got to Howell and told him to recant. Gotcha.

I think FN should select a 3 man commissioned panel to investigate the validity of these heinous allegations.

I'm waiting for a story to come out that a WWE or MMA fighter got bullied.

He Bulldozed. The National League!!!

Dodgers did not want to go through what Miami is going through. Gm and manager do not want to lose their jobs over this. Plus it could hurt attendance plus have MLB investigating and sking Questions of others in clubhouse. Howell was probably told to recant story trying to put Pandora back in box. not sure how much time Puig spent in minors if any. He is doing on the job training, and will make mistakes.

OK, I'll chair the panel.

We also have to investigate Puig bullying Luis Gonzales by pretending he didn't understand Spanish....

LMFAO, you do realize that Puig is only 22 years old, don't you?? There are "many" 22 year old major league players that make or have "made bone head plays all season"!!
