12:23 PM ET 11.16 | The NBA fined New York Knicks guard J.R. Smith $25,000 on Friday for his exchange with Detroit Pistons guard Brandon Jennings on the social media website Twitter. The league stated the fine was for "directing hostile and inappropriate language to another player via his Twitter account." The exchange between Smith and Jennings started when Jennings made a critical comment about Smith's little brother, Chris, who also plays for the Knicks.

That's where the NBA messed up. It should be something like 25,000 or 1% of the salary whichever is higher. Having to pay 25K to a player making say 800K hurts a lot more than 50K to a player making 10,000K (or 10 million if you can't do the math).

JR just gets dumber! Why is he pushing it? Does he have the pull that Isiah had in NY?
