AP now part of Vikes' problem

07:20 AM ET 11.18 | Where have you gone, Adrian Peterson? Is anyone still holding onto the idea that [Peterson] is the same running back that he was in 2012? If you're a Vikings fan and believe that, you're dreaming. ... You could make the excuse the Vikings were 6-4 at this point at year ago, and they are 2-8 after Sunday's embarrassment in Seattle, and that means they can't be feeding the ball and running strong with Peterson in fourth quarters. Except, there have been four games -- the opening loss in Detroit, the late losses to Chicago, Cleveland and Dallas -- where a dominant fourth quarter from the MVP running back would have allowed the Vikings to come away with a victory. Make all the excuses you want for Peterson. He's back to dancing at the hole as was the case in his most-ineffective moments during his first five seasons.

One mediocre game against an elite defense and the media jumps on like a bunch of leeches.

I guess they're running out of people to blame in Minny.

Maybe if the O-line had created some holes, this would make sense. Ponder threw 2 INTs that the Seahawks scored off of (one a pick 6), and the Vikes were down by 27 just like that with almost 13 minutes left in the game.

The O-line has been atrocious and inconsistent all year long.

I thought AP was going to break records this year?

I was wondering if the murder of his son a few weeks back was dragging on him. But, the stories sounded like he had minimal contact with the kid.

I know. Heck, wasn't AP the one who was claiming he was gonna break said records?

I think it's more then one mediocre game there bud..... But regardless if anyone actually thought Peterson would have as dominate a season as last year they'd have to be crazy. History shows that pretty much every RB that's cracked the 2000 yd mark has either really struggled the following season or been severely injured. It's almost a curse to crack 2000 yds in a season because the next season never pans out to similar results.

Yeah, but it's easier for the media to simply pile-on, rather than do any kind of research into information like that.

How many 100 yard games does he have since boasting 100 yard games are easy to do?

I read one article that said he had never seen the kid since birth. He's got other kids though. And more baby mommas. I think he's probably over it.

Not if there's "fire in the hole." You could be scratchin' for a while.

I still say this is a very talented team missing a quality QB. Funny, Free mason hasn't hit the field since hit fiasco start weeks ago. I'd bet he can't learn the play book. Its complicated. Its much more then lets drop back and throw some passes. The Vikes throw a lot of option passes that Ponder understands. They drafted him because of his smarts not his arm. They are not going to change the play book to fit Free mason that's for sure.
I'm wondering if that was the crux of the problem in Tampa, he couldn't learn Schiano's playbook and the two went round and round about it?
