07:31 AM ET 11.18 | One day could cost the Mets plenty. Infielder Ruben Tejada is considering filing a grievance against [the Mets], accusing the team of shortchanging him one day of service time that would have allowed him to become a free agent after the 2016 season instead of 2017, two sources with knowledge of the situation told Yahoo Sports. While teams regularly manipulate service time to keep players from reaching arbitration early, Tejada's case is unique not only in keeping him from free agency but the Mets not trying to hide it. ... Mets officials are aware of a potential grievance. Through a spokesman, the team declined comment. When reached by phone, Chris Leible, one of Tejada's representatives at the Legacy Agency, declined comment.

The issue here is Terry Collins will never forgive him for showing up late for Terry's First Spring Training, Terry came from the bush leagues and that's where he belongs, he sure isn't Casey Stengel who didn't talk to Mickey Mantle and others for a long period of time, but never said a word to the press, or Gil Hodges, who had to separated from some of his players for dumb mental mistakes, but he will always be Terry Collins The Never Was and Never Will Be! Tejada is the first of many young ball players who will go to the press to get them the hell out of this loosing organization, it really makes no difference who they sign the team is shattered!

QUOTE(#3):

You mean second spring training, after a season where Tejada played well and they were expecting him to get better. And it is Sandy who wants to get rid of Tejada.

Inside information, the guy wants out because of Terry and Alderson supports his manager. Within 2 season's of Tejada leving The Mets he wl be an All -Star! The Young players are done with Collins!
