Rangers out of Jacoby Ellsbury sweepstakes

05:33 PM ET 11.18 | The Texas Rangers seem to be yearly players for the top free agents on the market and this offseason is no different. However, the team is reportedly out on the Jacoby Ellsbury free agent sweepstakes. With Nelson Cruz departing, Texas is looking to replace his offensive production in the lineup. That's something Ellsbury could do, though, it would be more in the use of speed and run scoring than power and run producing. Signing Ellsbury would also force the Rangers to move Leonys Martin to a corner outfield position, something they're not overly keen on doing.

Maybe the Rangers want to bring Napoli back, he's kind of a Cruzesque hitter.

I guess that leaves the M's and the Red Sox.

Good - the last thing the Rangers need to be looking at is a 3rd center fielder. Too many other needs to be pursuing a non-need.
