Hard to see Ponder keeping his job

07:20 AM ET 11.19 | After yet another Vikings loss, Leslie Frazier told reporters that he wasn't sure which of his three quarterbacks would start Sunday's game at Green Bay. Frazier still wasn't ready to announce his starter during his Monday news conference. All three quarterbacks -- [Christian Ponder], Matt Cassel and Josh Freeman -- are healthy enough to play, but 10 games into the season, the Vikings still are publicly uncertain how to proceed. "Just want to talk that through a little bit and when we come back on Wednesday have a good idea," Frazier said. ... It's hard to envision how Ponder can keep his job given the team's record (2-8) and his mistakes Sunday. His two interceptions in the fourth quarter turned the game into a runaway, and he has 13 turnovers in seven starts.

I can't see Frazier keeping his job and whoever the genius was who drafted Ponder should be gone.

what a collection of 'has-beens'.

November 19, 2013  08:40 AM ET

And I thought the Vikings giving up a leauge worst 32 pts per game was the issue. How is that the QB's fault?

November 19, 2013  08:41 AM ET

What a cornucopia of suck.

At some point Freeman will be the starter; it's his job to keep and lose. Ponder is a goner as soon as the season ends and Cassel is a backup; he probably won't resign after this season end. The Vikings will have another high draft pick and do a little house cleaning (defense line, secondary). Next season will see more of those three draft picks from this season's draft. Minnesota will be a big player in the free agent market; they were not this past off season. You have to give Adrian Peterson a better chance at winning or trade him where he can win.

Why has it taken the Vikings so long to figure this one out?

Sounds better than my comment. LOL!

Blindfold Frazier and let him play pin the ball on the quarterback. It won't matter which one.

I do expect we'll see Freeman soon, however

Lucky for Minnesota that they will be in the Top 10 in the draft and there will be a much better crop of QB's in 2014 than 2013 draft .

If you are a Viking fan you want to keep losing, you want TB and Jacksonville to win some games, and maybe if this formula plays out Jonny Football could be coming to the Twin Cities in 14.

Frazier and Ponder can huddle over an oil drum fire on the street corner together.

We shall see, but Johnny football is not that much in demand from the pro scouts. Doubt he will even be a first day draft by anybody. He is no Brees, not the arm for that stuff. Just too many throws you do not have to defend against. Great college player.

My first thought too. Why ask Frazier, save the question for the next HC.

Word has it Freeman is slow to catch on to the play book. Sure as heck didn't stop them from throwing him in against NY.

One day after the season, keep your eyes away from Eden Prarie.....the mushroom cloud will be too bright to look at directly.

November 19, 2013  09:35 AM ET

Who is stocking the shelves? Who drafted Ponder, who decided on picking up Freeman?

If your problem is personnel it is wasted motion to talk about firing the coach, unless the coaches voice is heavily involved in personnel decisions. A lot of times QB's just can't make the jump from NCAA to a starting responsibility in the NFL but you can't have 3 of them on your roster.

Because GM Rick Spielman has been allowed to overstay his welcome.

As a hater of the Queens... I hope this happens.

You are cruel. I like it. I am thinking 10 games of Johnny Football as the QB and they will be screaming for the return of Kelly Holcomb or Tavarious or even Joe Webb and one lone cry out for Brooks Bollinger.

<ttthhhhbbbbbbtttttt>

For that remark, I hope JJ promotes Callahan to HC.

Don't forget Spergon Wynn.
