Michael Vick supports Nick Foles as starter

03:53 PM ET 11.22 | The Philadelphia Eagles have completely turned their season around since Nick Foles has taken over the reins of Chip Kelly's offense, but many were wondering what would happen if and when Michael Vick was able to nurse himself back to 100 percent. If Vick's comments are any indication, the team should move forward with Foles running the show and Vick was able to show a sense of understanding and maturity about the situation. In a day where many would say that they want to jump back as the starter, Vick showed his support of Foles and acknowledged that it wouldn't be fair for the team to move away from a quarterback who is playing so well.

Can't really blame him if he goes that route. He's taken more than his share of hits. Might be kind of nice to get paid without having to leave parts of your body on the field for a change.

A very mature and gracious attitude from a man often reviled for terrible behavior in the past.
Some do get wisdom with age, let's appreciate it; too many starters who've been replaced by a younger QB do not handle it well like Vick is doing.

Don't believe Vick, he 's praying Foles gets both legs broken ....soon.

Vick's comments on WIP-FM, via CSN Philadelphia:

"In all honesty, in all fairness, how can you take a guy out of the game who's been playing so well?"

"I've been in this stage before, and I know what it's like. I understand the position that this team is in, and the one thing I never want to do is be a distraction or put our team or our coaches in a position where they feel like they're not doing the right thing or I feel like they're not doing the right thing."

"(Foles) had an opportunity to learn from me this year and last year and just sit behind me and pick my brain, and he also went out and played the game, and now he's just taking that and everything is unfolding for him"

"He can potentially be a starter in this league for a long time. It's just about timing, as of right now. As long as he keeps doing what he's doing, he's going to continue to build that case."

Very classy comments IMO.

Jason, you hit the nail on the head. Everybody has desire, Vick is now showing some humility. Accept it as it is.

He has to be afraid of retiring, I understand the Eagles have the same retirement plan as his kennel.

It's easier to whine incessantly than to work to have the legal punishments updated.
