Johnny Manziel: 'We got punched in the mouth'

09:52 AM ET 11.24 | Those tuning in to see Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel take on LSU against the dramatic backdrop of Tiger Stadium didn't get the typical Johnny Football show. Manziel spent more than 40 minutes of the game exactly where the BCS No. 22 Tigers wanted him -- on the chilly sideline. Even when he was on the field Saturday, Manziel and the No. 12 Aggies (8-3, 4-3 SEC) were stunningly inefficient and ultimately exposed in the 34-10 loss that cost them greatly. Those hopes of a BCS at-large bid? Almost certainly gone after the worst loss of the Kevin Sumlin era. Manziel's chances of becoming the first repeat Heisman Trophy winner since Archie Griffin in 1974 and 1975 are also flat-lining with one regular-season game left next week at Missouri. "We got punched in the mouth today, and it wasn't fun," Manziel said. "We could never really get it going. You have to give a lot of credit to them. They came out and mixed things up and kept us guessing." For the second straight season, LSU (8-3, 4-3) bottled up Manziel and the SEC's top offense like few opponents have been able to do.

Stay in school Johnny. The Pros do not think you are all that. Enjoy the college scene while you can.

So, with flameouts by Manziel, Bryce Petty, and Marcus Mariota, who's the Flavor of the Week for the Heisman?

He's definitely been enjoying the "college scene" for sure.

Good advice but he won't take it. He's gone after the season.

He was frank on why they got beat. Hard to win when your offense only has the ball 1/3 of the game and can't find their rhythm.

MSST showed they didn't have a defense....

Why not? He is not out there committing violent crimes on the street. Have some fun while you can. with the NFL rookie pay scale set in stone, he is not losing out on any money.

Leastways since 6/29/12.

Andre Williams although AJ may get one by default.

They have quite possibly the worst defense in D1. Manny Diaz would be an upgrade.

I forgot to mention J. Winston also, but I figured his Heisman chances took a nosedive with his legal entanglements.

Mike Evans - darkhorse.

Old school receiver who fights on every play. I really enjoy watching him play.

Yeah you don't rush for 2000 plus yards by chance at any level. You have to be good. Big time outside chance at Sanders single season rushing record.
