10:28 AM ET 11.24 | It sure looks as if the signing of QB Josh Freeman was directed by Vikings owner Zygi Wilf, but that coach Leslie Frazier, a man of high integrity, continues to start Christian Ponder, who Frazier figures gives the team the best chance to win.

Freeman or Ponder? A true Hobson's choice. They are not going anywhere with either one.

Probably. It was not a football decision by informed football people. Ya didn't see any rush to sign him form 31 other teams.

That actually explains a lot.

If I had to guess, I would say that that Freemason can't learn the playbook and may not be the cerebral player they were hoping for. Whereas Ponder was actually hand selected as a smart guy you could build your ball control offense around: lots of 10 yard dink passes to the tight end, lots of screens, a few deep balls, and many carries by the running back. Keep your defense off the field and fresh philosophy requires smarts and skills both.
Ponder wasn't an after thought. He fit their mold.
